On one of our first early mornings back in Qingdao after two months in North America, we discovered that our apartment had no breakfast stuff. So it was around the corner for some â€œtea eggsâ€ (èŒ¶è›‹), soy milk (è±†æµ†) and “oil strips” (æ²¹æ¡ï¼Œdeep-fried dough sticks).
On the rare occasion I have these, I dunk them in sweetened, hot soy milk. American friends in Shanghai sprinkle cinnamon and powdered sugar on them.
