Jason and Shannon, near the end of their third and (for now) final year in Mainland China, have an interesting post on their blog, Two Canucks in China: Confidence. A characteristic they see in their students we’ve also seen in Chinese friends from the Mainland: a great interest in sentimental, “Hallmark”-type inspirational fluff. J&S’s student discussion group had some interesting reflections yesterday on fluff vs. real confidence. And even brought Taiwan into it.
